Nicola and Robert's Wedding Posted on April 17, 2012
Today I was at probably the most impressive venue I have ever photographed at, Belton House in Grantham. The indoor photography was very restricted by The National Trust's rules, but we were able to get some particularly good shots outside. The weather started badly but turned to glorious sunshine later, and with the formal photography finished we all got tea and cake in the orangery. I sat and thought to myself that there are worse jobs than being a wedding photographer.

Photographing at Christ's College, Cambridge for the first time today. Like most of the colleges, its a beautiful place with many photogenic locations. Tim is the college butler, and it was great to have a groom who knew the wedding location so well. The wedding all went according to plan, but we were all kept on our toes by the presence of more than 30 children!

Great wedding at the Cedar Court Hotel in York yesterday. This was a five star hotel with impressive service and wonderful food to match! As well as being photographer I was also a guest at this wedding which meant I needed to brake off from my work to give a reading in the ceremony and also have my own photograph taken, so it was a very eventful day. Jack and Helena make a lovely couple and it was great to see so many of my old friends again.

Deena and Ken's Wedding Posted on July 17, 2010
Today's wedding has been at the wonderful little church of St Edmunds, Hauxton. The vicar was terrific and had a great sence of humour, which was helpful due to the large number number of children present! The wedding went very smoothly and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Sarah and Nathan's Wedding 16/7/10 Posted on July 17, 2010
Following on from Georgie and Luke's wedding a few weeks ago, at the same church and with Georgie as a bridesmaid, today's wedding felt very familiar! Once again the weather has been lovely and with great venues at St Mary's Church, Swafham Bulbeck, and The Hotel Felix. Sarah wore a truely spectacular dress and we got some nice shots at her parents house before the wedding.

Charity Run in London Posted on July 11, 2010
I have had a very early start this morning to get to London for this mornings ASICS 10km charity run, in order to photograph the runners from The Cambridge University Press. There was an impressive parade by the army and some wonderful novelty costumes - I cant help but wonder how any one could have managed wearing these in this mornings heat. I did a before and after group photograph and tried to get some of the CUP runners in action- a real challenge finding and photographing them amongst an astonishing 25,000 runners. I got some of them.

Ben and Kelly's Wedding Posted on July 10, 2010
Ben and Kelly's wedding has been an impressive affair - starting at St Georges church in Littleport and going on to Chilford Hall, Linton. They had a very photogenic wedding car from Cloud 9, lovely weather (though very hot) and beautiful venues. The bride looked particularly stunning.

I was very impressed with Chilford Hall, the grounds are just right for wedding photography and we got some good shots there. I also liked the 'arch of lightsabers' as the bride and groom are Star Wars fans.

Cambridge University Press Charity Event Posted on July 8, 2010
These are a selection of pictures from the set I have just taken for the Cambridge University Press Summer Fair - a charity event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Today's event featured the Press choir, and included stalls selling books, jewellery and cakes. It is intended to raise some extra money ahead of the main event, The ASICS 10K run in London this saturday, which I will also be photographing.

Visit to National Portrait Gallery Posted on July 6, 2010
I have just returned from London where I have visited The National Portrait Gallery and an exhibition of graduate students photographic work at The A & D Gallery, London. This has been a fascinating trip - at The National Portrait gallery it was wonderful to see so many historic portraits such as Elizabeth I's coronation portrait and the famous portraits of Charles I and II. It was extremely interesting to see how these historic portrait paintings have influenced contemporary formal photographic portraiture, and to have the opportunity to see the best of both these types of work in the same gallery. It was great to see some famous modern pieces such as Marc Quinn's 'Blood Head', a portrait of his own head made from his own frozen blood, and Sam Taylor Wood's self portrait holding a stuffed hare. I also found Steve Mcqueen's work 'For Queen and Country' very thought provoking - it is a wooden cabinet containg sheets of stamps portraying British soldiers killed in The Afghan War. Seeing this piece really has great impact.

The A & D gallery off Baker street is a small gallery showcasing some superb work by photography students. I was especially impressed with the fashion portraits by Abigail Holt which were visually and technically stunning.

Visit To Felbrigg Hall 28/6/10 Posted on July 1, 2010
I visited Felbrigg Hall in Norfolk this evening which is a wonderful stately home surrounded by a lake. My hopes of photographing the hall were dashed by the extremely powerful security lights that shine directly at you when you get within sight of the building, making a good exposure impossible. I did however get a nice picture of a tree in the grounds and of the swan on the lake.

Georgie and Luke's Wedding 26/6/10 Posted on July 1, 2010
This has been a fantastic and unusual wedding. We began at St Mary's Church in Swaffham Bulbeck and moved to a marquee in a nearby field next to a stables, which made for some good photo opportunities with the horses. This was a large wedding with a great atmosphere and lots of very friendly people.

Georgie contacted me to say she was very pleased with the pictures.

Liz and Duncan's Wedding 12/6/10 Posted on July 1, 2010
Liz and Duncan's Wedding began at Cambridge Registry Office and we were able to get some nice pictures at The Castle Hill grounds on this beautiful afternoon. Later we moved to The Nyton Hotel in Ely which is a lovely hotel which provided a great reception venue.

Karen and Johns wedding 5/6/10 Posted on July 1, 2010
This was my first wedding in Houghton near Huntingdon, at the small but beautiful parish church. Karen and John walked the short distance to the church and were collected by a black London type taxi for the journey to The Hotel Felix, a venue which I know very well. The weather was wonderful and this was a good, fun wedding where everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.

Cambridge University Graduation 25/6/10 Posted on July 1, 2010
I have been working today for Jet Photographic, Botolph lane, Cambridge. Jet specialises in university photography and we have all been very busy with graduation photographs. I have today been the official photographer for Trinity College Graduation parade, which started with the graduates lining up at Trinity College and then marching to Kings Parade. It was an impressive sight. Later I took graduation portraits at Queen's College and at the Jet studio off Trumpington Street.

Book cover for Cambridge University Press Posted on July 1, 2010
Having been asked by The Press to contribute images for possible use in a previous publication, I have just been told that my latest submitted image has been chosen for the front cover of 'So You think you Know English?' by Clare West, to be published early next year. The cover image was intended to pick up on the key theme of the book, which is to explain English idioms to foreign readers.
